Certified Local Governments
The Certified Local Government (CLG) Program is a preservation partnership between local, state and national governments focused on promoting historic preservation at the grass roots level. A community must show both the state and National Park Service that they are committed to historic preservation. They can do this by establishing a historic preservation ordinance to protect historic resources in their community; maintain a register of historic resources and participate in the National Register process. Nevada has four CLGs:
Carson City,
Las Vegas,
Reno. Storey County is also a CLG by virtue of the
Comstock Historic District Commission.
